Newbie SRSS Reports

I need some training with SRSS report editing. I’m certain it will only take about an hour of someones time. Email me if you are willing to assist at p c doc tor.c j @ g m a i l

please post your email address so that people can contact you. (Off the forum)

You will be able to find some good epicor specific SSRS videos on youtube which will get you pretty far.

I’ve watched the videos, but stuck with a weird error now. I’m hoping to get an hour of someone’s time.

You could also just ask the question here and let people answer it, thus providing the Epicor community with some further knowledge and not costing you a thing

Ok, so this is a new installation. I am trying to edit a report in report builder. I have obtained the GUID from the system monitor. I have put that information in the GUID - and it generates an error
Invalid object name 'InvcHead_guidID. I even tried viewing a current ARForm to see if that would work and I am still receiving the same error. Anyone have any ideas what I am missing. I am working in Epicor 10 test.

Are you running your report with an Archive Period of greater than 0 days? If not, that GUID will exist for the duration of when the report is run and will not exist in the report table(s) after. If you set it greater than that, your guid will be valid until it’s not.

Yes, I read about that yesterday and changed it in the system agent.

Archive period is 30 day - purge period is one day
I tried a Purchase Order to see what happened - here is the error:
Invalid object name ‘Company_686291fa10df492fbfa8b5c4ae6a84bb’.

Query execution failed for dataset ‘Company’. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)

An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)

Any other thoughts…Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

Back up a second, you said this is a new installation of this environment, correct? I think you should start at your SSRS config. In your web portal for reporting services, is your datasource in your EpicorEnvironment>reports>CustomReport> folder pointed at the correct environment? I assume you’re able to run native reports, but you’re only encountering problems when attempting to customize a report? and is if you’re unable to run any custom reports, have you verified the “custom” report is pointed at the correct datasource?

hmmm… I don’t see this option - I looked for it yesterday trying to work through this myself

kinda looks like you don’t have permissions, might want to talk to your IT group or whoever manages that before you can start working on this

I am using 2016 Report builder - On the home screen I can add a datasource. I am trying that option currently to see if that works. Thanks again for all your assistance!
I will let you know how I make out.

I have added the datasource - tested the connection - all looks correct
Previewed a PO in EpicorTest
Went to edit after getting GUID - new error
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Query execution failed for dataset ‘RptParameter’. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
Invalid object name ‘RptParameter_d8b07450001d43fc9507533a2493bb69’.
Which points to the purge time - but obtained it seconds after running…
What’s next? I think it’s so close…

You said you changed it in the system agent, did you change it when you run the report?
