I looked at the email from tech support again and decided to log into 5.0
once more to check the version and patch level. It ran database
conversions first thing, and when I tested it afterwards, all seemed to be
working properly. I'm not sure why it didn't work the first time around.
Maybe I hadn't rebooted the server...
Anyway, the solution to the NO-LOCK Status error (which was known and
documented by Epicor) was to apply the latest Vantage patch.
