We have a similar situation. We set up a warehouse in Vantage which is the
out of state warehouse that we store our material in. We also set up an
in-transit warehouse. We use "inventory transfer" to transfer the material
from our local warehouse to the in-transit warehouse. When the out of state
warehouse receives the material they fax us and we then transfer the
material to the out of state warehouse.

We set-up a blanket Sales Orders. When the customer pulls a item, we
create a packing slip against that SO.

We have been doing this since 1996 and it works very well for us.

Good Luck,

Subject: Consignment Inventory or JIT ??

We have a large out of state customer that is demanding we drop ship their
orders to a warehouse that they can pull from as needed, and also pay for
only those items they actually relieve from my consignment warehouse.
Anybody have any suggestions on the best way to do this in Vantage?

Thanks
