Hi Andrew:
Sorry it took me a while to get back to you.
After reading your response and everyone elses afterwards,
I would go with what Todd Hofert said earlier.
I'm just not familiar with that error message to give you more details.
Like you said, we do the same thing where we have a bin associated
with multiple warehouses. And we have never had that error message pop up.
Sorry, I couldn't help you more.

Andrew,
For each part record in the part warehouse table, you won't necessarily
find
a matching part record in the part bin table. Per Vantage, "the purpose
of
[the part warehouse table] is to indicate in which warehouses a part MAY
exist. A part CAN exist in one or more warehouses." However, the part bin
table "contains the Onhand quantity for a specific part in a specific bin
location within a warehouse. It is a subset to the PartWhse table. When
the Onhand quantity becomes zero, the PartBin record is deleted. There
should never be any records that exist with a zero quantity onhand."
Regards,
Scott

Dear Manasa Reddy,
Thanks for the response.
I checked the part tracker, and it shows two warehouses, warehouse 50,
and warehouse STK. On the Bins tab, it only showed one warehouse, with
one bin location. So I ran a report. I joined the part table to
partwhse using company and part number. I then joined the part table
to partbin table using company and partnum.
What I found is that the warehousecode field in the partbin and
partwhse tables don't match (I assume this field is one of the keys,
and that they should match). Here is an example from the RB:
PartNum partwhse.WarehouseCode Partbin.WarehouseCode BinNum
15361 50 50 02N3B
15361 STK 50 02N3B
So basically the partwhese table shows that the part can exist in two
warehouses, warehouse 50 and warehouse STK. But the Partbin table only
has one warehouse for that part number. Whse 50 is the primary with a
quantity of 19. Whse STK has a quantity of zero, and cannot be deleted
because it has inventory transactions against it.
Could this be the problem? What ramifications can you see with this?
Should it be fixed? How?
Hope the info above helps.
Thanks for your help!
Andrew
