Has anyone used Reference Designators within Non-Conformance and Inspection Processing.
I’m looking to allow operators to book Non-Conformance through MES - then allow an Inspector to Pass or Fail but record the Reference Designator that relates to the defect.
Using inspection processing is somewhat a horror for electronics. We built it out on a UD table. Parent table for Quantity, inspection quantity, quantity passed, date (yields) and child table for defects with quantity found, reference designator, defect code, inspecting operation and operation to blame…
When you get this granular you can start analyzing by class, part number, analysis code and get metrics like cost of quality by assigning an average cost per defect and adding in rework labor.
@markb_wi - thank you for the response.
I think initially I will add some UDFields to the NonConf table and attempt to build up a data set sufficient for reporting and analysis.
I assume the Inspection Processing screen uses the same NonConf table?
