OpenOffice.org's spreadsheet will save in DBF, and handles Excel sheets nicely. You can load it on your system along with MS Office with no problems -- it's very "non invasive". You might even like it so much, that you won't spend any money buying MS Office in the future ;)

I recently moved to Excel 2007 and discovered that saving a file as a
DBF file is gone, Microsoft calls it a deprecated feature. I had been
saving a customer's Excel file to a DBF format and then connecting the
table to Vantage via ODBC using Crystal 8.5 Do later versions of
Crystal support more native file formats? Does anyone know of an Excel
add-in that would restore the DBF functionality?
