ODBC Access security

Use your Epicweb login and go to:

ftp://ftpmpls.epicor.com/vantage/ODBC/

There you will find the ODBC kits for multiple versions of Vantage.

When you create an ODBC connection, the default user is sysprogress. To my knowledge this user has full access. Is there a way to create a user that has only read access to the database?

I'm afraid that if somebody changes the ODBC default isolation level to 'READ COMMITTED', they would be able to edit the database directly. Is there a way to limit the user ID from having edit access?

Thanks,
Jasper

This is mentioned in the ODBC kit. We created a new ODBC user and granted
only read access to a limited number of tables. Works like a charm.
