Wendy,
The progress version of ODBC does not support what you are trying to do
in Vantage 5.1. Supposedly in Vantage 5.2 there is a way you can do this,
but I have not actually tested or tried this.

To obtain the drivers that would work, you would need to call Merant and
purchase the 3.6 drivers from them (approx. $100). I would be curious if
anyone on the list had the contact for the free ODBC drivers from another
third party, and curious if they would work for Wendy's situation.

Well, I am changing our quoteform and inserting a subreport into it. I
received a 599 error in Vantage once I inserted the subreport. I looked up
the error on ePortal (1018MPS) and it said that I should use the "old"
(ivpro15.dll) Merant 3.6 driver instead of the PGPRO915.DLL Merant 3.6
driver. But after what Troy just said I'm not sure if I have that option.

I've never seen where you could download them. You may need to contact
Merant directly for their version. I've heard of another free version,
but
doubt that they are called 3.6 version drivers. There was a thread on
it on
the list here over a year ago, I think.

The progress drivers are built into progress, so there would be no need
to
download those.

I am using the Merant 3.50 Driver with Vantage 4/Crystal 7. I bought it
from Epicor with Vantage 3, and it still works with version 4, with some
changes to the configuration and installation.

They are included with Progress v9 (vantage v4) and v9.1 (vantage v5).
You have to install it off the vantage CD.
