ODBC into WhseBin

Aaron,

Although I would not go as far as to recommend it for anyone else,
we did append warehouses and bins during our implementation through
an ODBC connection. 1 year later, no ill effects. (We also
appended Parts and Customer records, but you have to hit several
tables in order for this to work. The only errors were created when
a step was skipped.) I definitely would NOT try to do this with any
tranactional entries. (Shipments, job builds, etc.)

Can anyone tell me off hand if there are any triggers to be aware of on the
WhseBin table. I am interested in populating a few hundred records into
this table with ODBC and don't want to cause harm.
Generally I stay very away from pushing in with ODBC, but in this case I
can't see a problem up front.
Thank you for any comments.

Aaron,

Assuming lot tracking and dimensional inventory are not checked for these
parts the PartWhse table keeps total onhand for the part for the warehouse.

Patrick,
I was just looking at adding bins to warehouses. Assigning parts will
happen manually later. Any thoughts?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. When I did this originally. A ground control
macro worked nicely. I was something like Type in the Bin, Short Cut Key to
fire macro which tabbed and pressed buttons, etc... And cycled back to the
entry field for the next bin number to be entered. Simple but cut the time
down from hours to minutes.
