ODBC reporting EpiCor9

There are difference yes, but I don't recall encountering anything when
fixing up my reports.

We are getting ready to "upgrade" from Vantage 8 to EpiCor9. We have many MANY reports created using Crystal and an ODBC connection in Vantage 8.03. I'm sure I that that database structure is gonna change which may require me to redo some of them but I want to make sure I'm not going to lose the capability to do ODBC with Progress as I currently have now. Can anyone verify that they can still use ODBC with EpiCor 9 with a Progress DB? Thanks!

Absolutely, you still have ODBC access in Progress and (obviously) SQL.

Yes, you can still use ODBC with Epicor 9. When using the new connection

I removed the original link.

We also seemed to have some performance problems using ODBC, not sure if it
was database tuning that was the culprit or the actual ODBC.

Thanks Travis...Just wanted to make sure as I have coded 100's of reports
using Crystal/ODBC. In your experience, are there major differences in the
database schemas between version 8 and 9?

Yes to all. I set up a sister company on E9.05.700C this past summer (upgrading them from 8.03.403), and although I had to also redo the reports to bring in the new link (a new version of OpenEdge and new OpenEdge ODBC drivers), the reports all work just as they did before. Most of them were pretty simple reports, and the new server is pretty beefy, so they haven't noticed any performance degradation.
