ODBC setup on Windows 7

Maybe I am confused by your statement, but I am talking about forms we
modified and having a problem viewing on this workstation.

I get a Crystal runtime error.

None of the standard 'reports' in V8 and V8.03 require ODBC
Back on 8.00 I had to use ODBC to link PO print to UD table. Once we
moved to 8.03, I was able to include the UD data in the XML to Crystal
and the need for ODBC went away for us.

Manasa,

Not exactly sure where you are stuck, however I just setup my first ODBC/Windows 7 machine and everything is working as expected.

This is assuming you are working on the x64 side.

1. Create your txt/reg file as described in the instructions, but make sure to follow the x64 detail.

2. Update the registry by launching the file from #1.

3. <Here is the change>... Instead of going through 'Administrative Tools' to launch the ODBC menu you will go to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and launch the "odbcad32" executable. This will launch ODBC where you can see the OpenEdge drivers (those listed under the registry key "Wow6432Node") under System DSN.

4. Setup your System DSN.

My issue was in launching ODBC through 'Administrative Tools'. I could not see any of the drivers in installed in the System DSN. Launching the "odbcad32" executable gave me those options and everything went as usual.

Hope that is what you were looking fo.

Jeff
