ODBC user getting hung up in Promon (V61)

I am having the same problem with hung sysprogress users. Can you
tell me where to set the timeout you referred to (Todd C. two hour
timeout)?

I asked Epicor about this and they said there is no timeout feature.

Thanks in advance.

Good Morning Group,
I have an interesting issue with Vantage 6.1 of late. It seems I have ODBC
users (sysprogress) getting hung in promon. I will go in periodically and
clear out dozens of them. I have never seen them in there before. It seems
to be only in the last month or two. I first noticed when I started running
out of licenses and discovered they were there. Does anyone have any ideas
why they would be there? On a potentially related note, has anyone yet
found a solid resolution to vantage just dumping some specific users when
attempting to print. It's been discussed here before. There does not seem
to be any traceable cause other than it sticks with some users through
computer upgrades (sometimes) and sometimes shows up new for a user when
then get a new computer, but others have never seen the problem.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

The issue of what I call "Ghost" users happens quite a bit. We always
run close to our license max here, so when a license is consumed by one
of these "ghost" users it has an almost immediate affect.

9 /10 times what causes this is a client's computer locking up /
crashing while vantage is open. This is a primary reason we implemented
the progress time-out feature. By setting the 2 hr time out, the ghost
sessions will be automatically closed. Also, I have our db setup so
most users are only allowed a single session at a time. That way if a
ghost session is created, the user will not be allowed to login until it
is cleared.

As for the printing issue... It is still an annoyance here as well.

Word of caution to anyone else setting this up the first time....the message the user will receive is THE SAME as the message for being out of licenses (at least on 6.10 anyway). Even if there ARE sufficient licenses available. First time I looked at Promon and saw 5 people in Vantage out of 30 licenses it took awhile to realize it was the user's 2nd login (after a crash) that was giving the out of licenses message.
