Odbc

I have a W2K workstation that I was attempting to set ODBC up on this
workstation. First of all, there was an ODBC driver for Merant on the
list but my attempts configure it gave me "setup routine for the
MErant 3.60 32 bit Progress SQL92 V9.1A ODBC driver could not be
loaded due to syst em error code 12
'. COuld not load setup or translator library. I installed the
driver off the Merant CD. Then I set it up as I do everyone's here.
I can test connect just fine. When I open Access and try to run a
Macro or report that is using ODBC to interrogate Vantage I get an
error that ODBC failed. Any suggestions please?
I am trying to connect to Vantage 5.0 using the ODBC-Merant 3.60 32bit
Progress SQL92 v9.1A driver and link tables to MS Access (97-2002). I was
able to link all the tables needed with the exception of PUB._Shipdtl. The
error message said:

"ODBC-call failed.

[MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS driver][PROGRESS]Column_Desc in table PUB._Index has
a value exceeding its max length or precision. (#-210012)"

We use Access to generate EDI ASN's, etc. Is anybody in the group familiar
with these error messages? I tried both Progress and Microsoft web sites.
Progress knowledge database seems off line all the time. Office XP has a
couple of entries about ODBC and none of them relate to this error
message...

From our experience, you have to use SQL89 with
Vantage 5.0 and Merant 3.60 32bit ODBC driver to
have any luck with ODBC.

Contact Epicor as they have a couple start and stop
.BAT files to help make this work. They should also
have instructions on exactly what you need to do.
