Off Topic - Drive Configuration

4 gigs if you can, 2 billion bytes these days is nothing.

We have about 5 solidworks stations waiting for a reformat because the 2gig
partition is filling up with temp files... Had we used 3 or 4 gigs for our
primary partition originally, we'd have saved significantly more than
$.02...

I would leave at least 3gb in your first partition for OS, I have some NT
systems that are pushing hard against the 2GB partitions.

I don't think this is even .02 worth.

I spend some time on this issue with Progress support about 6 months ago.
They suggests two logical drives. One for your boot partition. The raid
level should be 1 using 2 physical drives. The second logical drive should
be RAID 10 using 4 physical drives. After I made the change to RAID 10 I
seen a huge speed increase. If you don't have a raid card you should invest
in one. Windows still uses allot of overhead to maintain software raid.
Thanks
Jeremy
