[off topic] DVD - Data Only

There is a number of DVD formats +R -R and others. Generally DVD RAM is
-R. DVD RAM is not a good medium for Movies. If you want to talk about
formats and stuff that are best for video you can write me off list.
For data storage though DVD Ram isn’t a bad format. 5 gig and more to
a single disk. You also don’t get the laser rot on non dvd disks.

I believe it means that the drive or system does not come with decoding
software for movies. You do not need decoding software to read data DVDs
but you do for watching movies. You could in theory go out and buy a
program like WinDVD which would serve as a decoder and then you would have
full functionality.

May want a second opinion but I believe that is what data only means.
