We are in an environment where we don’t get too many zip files and each are quarantined by our cloud-based email virus/spam filter and released as needed.

Thx Todd, I run a Barracuda Spam & Content appliance in front of AV and both block .zip’s by default, I’m looking at opening this up or at least quarantining zips to review and release.

We don't block because too many customer part prints arrive that way. But the email A/V system deep scans them, especially for file types that can contain executable macros. They are scanned again when opening the zip file and again when contents are opened - usually a PDF file.
