Does anyone use an ISA server for firewall? My drive failed and I
replaced and rebuilt it last night. Mail, terminal services work
great. However, noone can get on the net. I have been through my
config 5 times and can't see the problem. I can ping outside of
work. From outside I cannot ping the external address of the ISA.
Any help would be great.
Don't know if it is the same situation for you but I had a similar problem
when I had to replace our SonicWall firewall. I found the router (on the
T1) had its own IP address in addtion to the external side address on the
firewall. Once I got each one right the inward access (like email messages)
could get in. Way back when I had setup the SonicWall the first time I had
not recorded which IP address went where so I had to reinvent the solution
by trial and error.

Thanks Todd but no that is not it. I know all appropriate IP addresses.
Mail is coming in and going out fine. It appears to be specifically a
problem with port 80. I can not telnet to it so there must be something
specific in that area. Any more ideas?

What is your public subnet? Make sure the router and IP address of
the external card are on the same subnet. If you use NAT then check
your Router Config. Then Ping the routers Public IP address. If you
don't know it your ISP will, or it is usually the second available IP
in your address block. If your router responds then it may not be
passing the info to the ISA server. I doubt it is a problem with
ISA, but their are so many config options it is difficult with out
more info.
Check your access policy. Make sure HTTP and HTTPS is open, and IP
Packet filter needs to be set to allow HTTP.

Thanks... however I should have been more specific. The port would be
available for about 20 minutes then the ISA server would need to be rebooted
once the port was no longer available. The same applied to port 25.

Where is IP packet filter? Do you mean in ISA mgmt? I don't have IP packet
filter.
