Off topic: Multiple NICs

You really can't separate them for apps. Unless certain apps are
primarily on a certain segment.

Has anybody utilized more then one network card on their server both for
Vantage and for file/app serving. If so did it have an impact on overal
performance? What problems and configuration issues did you have? How do I
set it up to take full advantage of both NICs?

Yes, Intel Pro 100+ Server Adapters allow you to create Adapter Teams which
then can be configured for Adaptive Load Balancing, FastEtherChannel or
Fault Tolerance. Works great! Requires some special handling if they're
going into a Terminal Server.

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Add several
nics and routing between them will keep the traffic down
on the segments. Adding serveral nics and teaming them
will stuff more on the wire.

I am looking at teaming them or maybe using one for one app and one for another. Also, this is a Windows 2000 box.
