Oh Kan Ban < 1 Blank Title 119759

Dude, Kanban is such an antiquated manufacturing practice. JIT and LEAN are
the same thing and can be easily managed within the normal production module
without Kanban.

I'm just curious, why does anyone still use Kanban techniques?

Kanban just reminds me of a paper-tape-punch and reader.

Hi All
Here is a fun one,
We just discovered that ANY Kan Ban job with a production Qty of less than
1 but greater than 0 so anything that is a "Partial" unit gets issued the
wrong amount of materials For Example

We have a Mom for Part XXX which requires 2 PPP Parts Per if we create a
Kan Ban job for .5 XXX this is what ends up happening

It correctly calculates a Required Qty of 1 PPP since originally it
required 2 PPP and we are cutting that in 1/2

But then at Issue time it once again divides the required qty in half
Issuing only .5 PPP

Has anyone seen this?

Yes, we would regularly complete Kanban Receipts of 0.5 or 0.75. I would have to open the job, issue the remainder of the material, and re-close the job.

This was present at Vantage 8.03.408B and I believe it still happens at 9.05.700.

Not that I know of, since that's supposed to be one of the benefits of Kanban Receipts (Auto job creation, labor/mtl issuing, and job closing).
