Old question about item photo

I have images appear on the shop data collection terminals and several other screens involving part information, print on travelers, pan tags, packing labels, shipping labels. All of these were done with custom applications between Progress and Visual Basic. Not simple, but the end result is a visual identification of what part looks like.

Displaying the photo of each part in Part Tracker is really quite
simple if you have Document Association. I think it is a seperate
purchase, at least it was when we bought Vantage. All of our digital
part pictures are stored as .jpg files on the network. I placed a
copy of Microsoft's Photo Editor executable file on the network and
in the View Command field in Document Association I have the
following:f:\photoed.exe "&1".
New photos are linked to the Part in the Document Association portion
of the BOM which makes them available in Part Tracker as well as Job
Tracker for any subsequent jobs made for that part.

I have successfully added the Pic to the Job Traveler, but it is a
fairly complicated processing involving an Access DB and a subreport
in the Crystal form. I tried to look back for old e-mails where I
described this process in more detail, but so far my searches haven't
produced any results. I'll look more tomorrow if you are
interested. Let me know.

Sorry if this question has come and gone, as I've been offline for months
now.

I want to display a photo of each part in the part tracker. I would also
like to print it on a Job Traveler when producing the part, and possibly put
a small photo of each part on each line of the Pack List to the customer.

Has anyone been able to do this?

I'm on 5.2, moving to 6.1 soon. Would 6.1 or 8.0 help?

Thanks a lot!
