Thank you for letting me attend this group!

Perhaps I am using the wrong keywords but I am not finding an answer from previous posts.

I would like to open the user interface from an external program. For example, from a Microsoft Excel worksheet showing a list of parts, have a column of VBA buttons that would open the Part Display screen with the indicated part displaying.

Another example might be a Java script attached to a button on a Servoy interface that shows active jobs, where the button would open the Job Tracker function already populated with the indicated job.

I got the buttons, but I don't have a clue on how to trigger the UI to open or open to a given record. Is there a way?

Thanks for any advice!

Charles
Easy,

Open Part Entry and Select a Part
GO to File -> Send -> Record to File

take that file and find your part number, and replace with something like
<<REPLACEME>>>

Then when you push the button in Excel, open that file and replace the
<<REPLACEME>> with the part number save it as a temporary file
then call Mfgsys.exe \CONFIG=yournewtempfile... or just register the mfgsys
extensio with Vantage.
