Operation Standard

What I am seeing is that the dropdown is populated but I still have to
select which standard I want to use. I would have thought that whatever
is assigned to the resource group would populate automatically and I
wouldn't have to select. Right now I am in the process of updating alot
of old data and I thought I would be able to do a mass replace of
operation/resource group and all of my methods would be updated with the
correct run/setup times. I guess not though

What I have ran into is that if you drag the resource group in from
the Engineering tab in Quote, or Job Entry it will pull the standard.
I have all of my standards set up at the Resource group.

Is anyone out there using the operation standard option on the resource
groups? By reading the help, my understanding is that if you assign a
standard to the group and then call out the group on the operation,
when a method is entered that calls for that operation, the standard
will automatically be populated. I have done this but when I enter the
operation in a method I have to manually select the standard. I guess I
don't see the point of assigning it to the resource group. Of course it
makes more sense to assign it to an operation rather than a resource
group since I may have multiple operation that use the same group. This
is forcing me to set up new groups for each variation of the operation.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kersten
