Order Book Value Report

I've got a backlog report in Report Builder that has 4 columns for
release months, and a column for remaining. You should be able to
run it for any time in past. Three Rows further categorize the data
by product code grouping.

Five calculated fields have to be edited for the column date ranges.

If anyone interested, email me off list for a copy and further
description.

If a moderator is listening, let us know when we'll have more upload
space.

Does anyone have a Sales Order Value report, similar to the canned Sale
Order Backlog report they're prepared to share?

I'm looking for a summarised period on period report for comparisons.
Currently running v4.

Go to www.ktcorp.com/vantage
We put together an Access database that has several different backlog
reports. One is a summary by customer and Product Group. You would need
the ODBC Drive for it to work.
Thanks

Chris,
I've taken a quick look, my first impression is to forget about Report
Builder. This can only be done in crystal using odbc. It looks like its
something that I'd find useful also. A couple of questions though, can you
give me a little more detail on what you're looking for, how it would be
used and the kinds of time periods you have in mind. Anything else that you
have in mind as far as how such a report would be used would help.

Bookings record only quantity and dollar changes not date changes.
Order change log records all changes but in a table report builder/crystal
can not unscramble. Maybe some custom code could pluck out the date changes
but it would not be pretty.
So if your trying to see the effect of a blanket type sales order that
simply gets moved out of this month meaning your bookings for the month went
down. Vantage does not log this.

Hi Shirley

My idea is for the report to reflect the value of outstanding sales orders
at a point in history to assess those book values against current levels. I
have the idea that the report should return for the period by filtering on a
single date

If you check out the Vantage canned report >Sales Management>Order
Management>Reports>Sales Order Backlog, accept the defaults except uncheck
the Print Order Release Detail that's pretty much it, but I want the ability
to view it retrospectively i.e. what was our order book looking like six
months ago.

Does this help? If not let me know and I'll try a different tack.

Many thanks

Here's our (what we call) Bookings Report. I don't know if it's at all what you're looking for or not. It's written for Vantage 5.0, so you may need to modify some fields for 4.0. I don't know how things have changed field-wize.
