Orders w/ multiple ship vias

We did just what you describe (forced to as a result of a 404 Pack Out bug) via customization.

Is there anyway to pull the shipvia on a customer shipment by the first order line rather than the header?

We may have an order that ships 2+ ways. The shipvia on the customer shipment screen defaults to the Order Header. I'm wondering if there is a way to change the default so it will pull from the first order line instead.
