Back on 12/15/03 Jeff Jaske sent a list of barcode equivalents that included:

Hey everyone,

I know this has been talked about in the past, but I'm having NO luck
searching the site, so I have to ask. I would like to create a bar
code that will contain several keystrokes to automate repetitive
tasks. One of the keystrokes I would like to include in the barcode
is the ALT key for example, I'd like to have Alt+A then U in a
barcode to update the Packing Slip Header in Vantage. What would I
use for the ALT key?

This is a particular pain of mine. I was only able to get the Worth
Data scanners to recreate this key. I have tried a number of times with
other scanners, though that does not mean it can't be done. The Worth
Data scanners have the WDP decoder built in. That combined with a
download from the files section of this list will give you the codes
needed to enter to get these scanners to do what you need. The file is
called barcode.xls.

Someone else submitted the file, and I only recently purchased a couple
of the WDP readers. They do work perfect for the task though. One
caution, if you are trying to read through plastic, spend the extra on a
laser scanner vs. the CCD. We have one of each, and the CCD has a very
tough time working through plastic.

If anyone has made a non-Worth Data scanner create an Alt key, please
