OT: Copy Windows 7 (x64) Professional Profile

I was under the assumption that the Easy Transfer Wizard was to move a
Profile from Computer_A to Computer_B... Didn't really think of that. I'll
give it a try, thanks for the idea!

Hey Vic,

Would it be possible to use the Easy Transfer Wizard under Accessories |
System Tools in some way?

Has anyone ever done this successfully?

I have a bunch of boxes that I cloned. I created a "dummy" account name and
set that profile up perfectly. I had planned to simply copy that "dummy"
profile to a real user name upon final setup of the PC.

It seems MS has disabled this feature in Win7; not like XP.

I've spent time Googlin' around and I found a tool called Windows Enabler
that simply enables disabled buttons. as in the "Copy Profile" button in
Advanced System Settings for User Profiles. I've tried that and also
another freeware tool. Although they both "worked" and copied the profile
successfully, it left me with another problem. Now when I try to login to
the "real user" account that I just copied from the dummy user, I get an
error upon login: "The Group Policy Client serviced failed the logon.
Access is Denied." I'm not even on a domain at this point...

Have any of you ever successfully copied Win 7 profiles? It shouldn't be
this difficult...

TIA!

Yes, you can import the 'good' user and assign everything to a 'new
user' on the target PC.
