[OT] Disk Space Monitoring and Alerts

Todd,

Have you looked at Jam Software's "TreeSize" program?

http://www.jam-software.com/treesize/index.shtml

The professional version may have command line features that you could use.

The free version is great, but I don't use it very often.

Quick sys admin issue...anyone using anything decent (and cheap) to monitor disk or folder sizes and email an alert when a threshold is crossed? I would like to monitor several folders and/or disks. Not real-time, just check once a day sort of thing. Or perhaps there's a Windows trick I don't know about?

Thanks,
Todd Caughey

PS...sorry if this is a repeat, I did not receive 1st attempt so not sure if it went or if Yahoo is flakey again.
This is either manually run or you can set it to run ever X number of
minutes, but you can set it up to run a batch command if a threshold is
reached.

Have you checked out Spiceworks? For the price (completely free), it
does a whole lot, including showing alerts for machines that pass a
disk-usage quota. It also does hardware inventory, software inventory,
and has a helpdesk ticketing system, but we're only really using it for
the inventory capabilities and logging.

Thanks. The description looks good and the price (free) is right. I'll give it a try.

Spiceworks looks interesting too...especially some of the other products (like inventory). I'll give it a try too.
Thanks,
