OT-DNC Question

Todd,

I didn't make any changes to the dnc file and it worked well with our old DOS based DNC software. With the new software I have to physically set up the parameters of the machine's dnc file. I'm not sure that I'm putting the parameters from the dnc file in correctly when I'm putting it in the new software.

I am not familiar with this particular equipment but it looks like ^M are
cariage returns, ^] are GS characters (Group Seperator). Are you sure that
is not supposed to be a ^J (Line Feed) after the ^M? Is anything getting
through at all? Assuming this is via a serial port I might wonder if you
need a "null modem" cable or adaptor to reverse the Send-Rec lines. Older
equipment often does.

Subject: [Vantage] OT-DNC Question

I'm setting up new DNC software. For some reason the machine keeps giving
me a physical error when I now download an NC file. Granted this machine is
very sensitive. It's an old Mitsubishi. I set the software up on 5
Prototrac machines and it works fine. I just have a problem with this one
machine. Would someone clarify that I am correct with my assumptions with
this DNC file?

-2 -h -l -x13 -p2 -b9600

^M^]

parity=2
-h=disable hardware handshaking
-l=literal transfer (I'm not sure about this one)
-x13=software handshake characters dcN/dcM (not sure about this one either)
-p2=port 2
-b9600=baud rate of 9600
I'm not sure what the ^M^ is.

Thanks!
