[OT] Exchange Log Files & Outlook Password Prompt

My users only get that message when they are logged in for a long time and
their passwords expire.
I make sure they reboot, then it prompts them to change passwords.
In your case, I would look at the network settings of the email server.
Check to make sure the domain settings have not changed somehow,Check server
name, DNS, ect.
Look in the email server event viewer for clues to what's wrong.

My .02's.

Subject: [Vantage] [OT] Exchange Log Files & Outlook Password Prompt

Help! Since some weekend power issues and server reboots I am having a rash
of problems with Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2000.

I posted yesterday (but never saw it come thru my inbox) about Exchange
creating a lot of log files in the MTBDATA folder (hundreds of them - each
5.1MB in size). A new one every 20 seconds. Any ideas where to control
this logging? I used to have it set to retain only 7 days but now even 1/2
a day fills the disk drive space. Also our main email store grew from 2GB
to 4GB almost overnight.

Now, I am having a lot of Outlook users getting a password prompt for which
nothing works. They can be logged in to the network and their PC just fine
but when starting Outlook (on Win98 PC) it requires Username,Domain and
Password and even if they use same info as when they logged in to network it
rejects it. Nothing seems to work - including deleting <username>.PWL
and/or resetting password on the server. It is like Exchange has its own
idea what password should be. All this started after server was rebooted
over the weekend.

Any help at all would be appreciated since about 1/4 of our email users
currently can not use Outlook.

Thanks,
