Do you visit any other secure sites? If so do they work? Chance are
you SSL ports on the firewall are not open. In order to protect your
information hotmail encrypts your sessions. Port 443 on the firewall
needs to be open in order to use SSL encrypted web sessions. An
example of a different encrpyted site would be on-line shopping. If
you order anything on-line you should see a little lock in the lower
right hand corner of you browser. This tells you that the site is
secure. Well, you hope so anyway. If the firewall came from your
cable ISP, tell them to fix the problem.
