OT Hair Puller

The secret to the AT command is that it runs under the Scheduler service.
This service runs as a system service and as such cannot access networked
resources. You need to configure the service to run as a user with the
proper name and password to access all of the those machines.

Hope this helps,

Subject: [Vantage] OT Hair Puller

Okay I am pulling my hair out on this one
Trying to use the NT 4.0 AT Command to schedule a Batch file to reboot
my data collection pc's

I am using the free psshutdown utility that is provided on WININTERNALS
web site

Anyway
I have a batch file called cycle.bat in my c:\tools directory
The batch file has a psshutdown command for each data collection pc
No matter what I do, I cannot get the batch file to run thru the AT
Command
I have scheduled the Vantage.bat file no problems

I have even moved the psshutdown utility and the batch file to my winnt
directory
Nothing happens

I have tried every combination I can think of to make this work

such at

at 14:00 c:\tools\cycle.bat
That does not work

at 14:00 "c:\tools\cycle.bat
Does not work
at 14:00 cycle.bat does not work

But I can drop to a dos prompt and type in cycle and hit return and away
we go

Try Scheduled Tasks under My Computer. I use this to schedule my backvan

I agree - I think the problem is that the system won't run the program. You
need to be an actual user. Scheduled Tasks allows (requires) you to select
a user to run the task.

You can also get there by going to Start -> Programs -> Accessories ->
System Tools -> Scheduled Tasks

For the less gifted in Command Line interface, there is a great freeware
program called Smart Schedule available at http://freesoft.da.ru/
that give a GUI interface to AT and allows you to control the schedule of
your remote machines from your own desk. Just start the program...connect
to the remote computer and start pushing buttons.
I can fight my way through the AT command if I try, but this is so easy and
free, I can't live without it.

Hope this is of help so someone.
