OT: HP2100 printer

Hi Lydia,

I wonder if there is a print preferences choice when you right click
On the printer icon under printer control.
If there is check to see if you can make changes to suit
Your printer. Also check for a button to set default.
These have been a problem for us in the past.

I had the exact same thing happen here. PITA. I reinstalled drivers,
etc. It would fix it for awhile then it would go back to being stupid.
It was in an office where only one user had access to it. Hitting the
button was an inconvenience but not fatal. We finally replaced it.

no way to change the setting on the printer itself (that I can find).
This
is, of course driving the users crazy. I'm already there.

Any ideas besides launch from the roof?

It could be that another program is sending PCL commands to the printer.

IIRC.... there's a DOS utility you have to run with the printer plugged
into parallel port to configure the default options on it.

Yup, just looked. "Laserjet 2000 Series" under DOS - "Remote Control Panel"
