[OT] IPhone VPN & RDP

VPN then VNC Lite.
Free, very basic. Lets you reset a user's forgotten password and the like.
A "pro" version of VNC lite allows additional commands.

Anyone using an IPhone or any other with VPN & one of the Remote destktop applications? Would be for simple remote troubleshooting or simple tasks.
I don't, but we have a consultant with an Iphone that showed me the remote desktop program and it worked great on our server, if you don't mind scrolling around a lot.

We use LogMeIn from both the iPhone, Mac's and PC's to our Desktop
PC's to do work from outside the office, a VPN is not needed as the
software takes care of the connecton ($29.99 for iPhone, free version
is fine for Mac's & PC's). Microsoft Remote Desktop also works well
from Mac's and PC's, assuming you have a VPN connection (free).

I use the iphone to connect to our servers and troubleshoot all the time. I just did it from Florida and I'm from Michigan. There is software from the App Store called RDP. There is a free version or a paid version for $6. The paid allows you to use mouse commands such as right click.

The screen is small so you'll have to do a lot of scrolling but its great when your in a bind. You just VPN in and then use the RDP to connect to the desktop.

It also works great within the company too!
