OT - Microsoft CRM Implementations

MS Dynamics CRM Server and Client 4.0, Exchange 2007 and soon Outlook 2007. None installed yet. We're developing plan to phase in slowly. Next summer will probably start to incorporate with a separate SharePoint project. The 2010 versions of everything had too few new features useful to us to gibe up some end of year discounts we got.

What Server and Exchange version are you using? We are looking this very
same thing. Vantage CRM has been a career-level disappointment.

We've purchased MS Dynamics CRM and plan to start implementing it in March,
right after we finish upgrading everyone to Office-2007.

So, what are we in for as far as implementation hurdles? Any big gotchas or
minefields from sites here that have done it? Regrets? Home runs?

Also, we'll be integrating some sort of extract/import of Vantage 6.10
Customer info to load it and refresh on a regular basis. I'm curious what
approaches other sites have taken. Especially given the ODBC too many keys
issue with the Customer table.

Thanks,

Todd,

You can work around the ODBC issue on the customer table by creating an SQL view on the table and using the view to export the data through ODBC.

Todd,

I found a work-around regarding the Customer table that uses Visual
Basic in an MS Access database to create a static table of Customer
data. If you know visual basic, it's easy enough and I can send you a
sample offline if you like.
