[OT} MyISAM vs. InnoDB

Good thing you asked this question here and not on one of the MySQL forums.
I did that once when the InnoDB technology was younger and it turned into a
huge flame war.

I prefer to use InnoDB for 99% of what I've done with MySQL. Neither of the
options will give you issues with batching. Crash recovery is way better
with InnoDB than MyISAM. I would pick InnoDB on that alone. MyISAM isn't
supported on MySQL 5, so if that is what you will be using then the decision
is made for you.

Here is a little Wikipedia entry on MyISAM.

We are creating a mill downtime application that logs all of our
delays into a MySql DB in a batch at the end of each shift. Any
suggestions in using MyISAM vs InnoDB for batching?
