While away from my email I found it using an old 3COM network mapping tool that came with a switch.

But...thank you to Bob and Ken for the pointer to Lookatlan. I went ahead and installed that and from what I can see this is going to be an amazing tool. It too identified the offending device....the secondary IP port on our StoreVault SAN.

I was going to re-IP the conflicting device but now I think I will have to re-IP the phone system instead. A matter of chosing which pain is worse. The phone techs should have asked me before grabbing an address....or at least pinged it first.

But LookAtLAN is definitely going into my software toolbox.

Thanks,
-Todd C.

Those type of "calculated" fields are actually just lookups to other
tables. If you pull up Report Data Definition, pull up ARFORM and go to
the INVCHEAD table, you will see a "Linked Tables" tab. In here you'll
see a lookup to CurrencyCode table, basically it uses the currencycode
from invchead to get the cursymbol from the currencycode table. The
'calculated fields' defines the data structure it's going to pass on to
Crystall (in this case Character x(4) meaning a character string 4
characters long).

Basically, no formula, just a lookup into another table to get the
symbol listed in that table.

(Vantage v 8.03.305)

I've got a Report Data Definition, ARForm (which is a System Report),
that has a 'Report Calculated Field' under InvcHead called 'CurSymbol'.
How do I go about finding out exactly how this field is calculated/what
formula is behind it ?.

Thanks.
