OT Outlook

Scott,
First check and make sure you are in the right Mode: Internet only,
Corporate, No Email.
If that's okay the profile might be a little flaky on the PC. I would
recreate the profile on the problem PC.
Hope this gets you started.

I have a workstation that can open Outlook but cannot read or send messages,
his outlook works fine on other workstations.
Any ideas?

When I wanted to get my Salesmen on Cable or DSL lines to the network I
asked my Thin Client group. They recommended Tiny Firewall (free version)
from Tiny Software, in addition to a Linksys router. Their reason was, the
software firewalls by them selves is not enough, but a software - hardware
combination creates more of a barrier. And since we only paid for the
router it wasn't that expensive.

Todd & Bob,
Which SonicWall models have you used, and what was an approx price? I had
a buddy recommend those as well, but didn't see any SOHO scale ones.

Good idea! I've had an SMC Barricade for over a year working well with my
dial-up connection. Last month ADSL finally became available at home! Woo
Hoo!! I now get as high 156K inbound (full T1 equivalent!) for
$48/mo :) The little Barricade keeps the 3 home PCs secure and NATed and
doesn't cause ANY slowdown compared to a direct connection. I'd heard some
of the cheap home routers caused a performance hit with faster connections,
but this thing cranks along and has been nearly 100% trouble free. Nice
for a $100 box.
