[OT] Pagefile.sys "poisoned"

Hmmmm....I hadn't tried reducing it. Maybe that will moved it around or something. It's a 10GB disk with about 2GB used not counting the pagefile so there is plenty of room.
Thanks,
-Todd C.

Todd
Try reducing it down to the min of 64 MB. That should rewrite it. The
other obvious this I have seen is if you don't have the space left of on the
hard drive for your 2GB page file all kinds of squirrly things happen.

Sort of OT except for it affects a Vantage user. When booting as he logs in
a message appears saying he has no pagefile or it is too small. But yes he
really does have one and at 2gb it is 2X his RAM. I have tried various
solutions found on web but none have worked. Deleteing pagefile.sys,
regedit to take out key for TempPageFile, setting permissions on
pagefile.sys (System and Administrator full control). This is Windows 2000
Pro SPK 2. I have read references to this happening if the pagefile becomes
"poisoned" but nothing seems to cause a new "fresh" one to be made. Next I
will try the recovery console on CD to overwrite then delete pagefile.sys.

Any other ideas for what to try next?
