Although I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment with an 8.03.400
implementation, you can contact me offline at
rrodriguez@... or 210-757-9111. I am a veteran of the
Norstar Meridian, Nortel BCM, and currently the original NEC IPK (not
the IPK II) phone systems. I can offer opinions only as the
administrator of these systems.

We were 90% set on upgrading our ancient Nortel Meridian phone system
(that is now inelligible for maintenance contract) to a Nortel BCM400. I
was supposed to do this by year-end. Now we have a competing proposal
from an NEC dealer for nearly the same feature set for 30% less which
got management's attention real quick. The Nortel upgrade seems the
"safe" route but the NEC system ( Electra Elite IPK II ) has several
features the BCM does not include as standard...such has unified
messaging. Both will use our existing wiring.

I would really appreciate any comments from owners of either
system....good or bad. Given the way off-topic and really specific
nature responses on-list are not likely to be helpful to future searches
so please feel free to contact me off-list.
