[OT] Read NTSF with Win98?

Jim,
I got your link first, tried it, and it worked great. Thanks. The hardest part was getting the laptop drive properly connected to the desktop with the correct master/slave settings.

Appreciate the help.

Is there any utility that will allow a Windows98 machine to read the files
from an NTSF drive (the NTSF is a secondary Master)? BIOS sees the
secondary drive, but Windows98 does not. Have have a WinXP machine that is
down, and I need one file off the XP drive. The only other PC I have is a
WIN98 machine (at the moment).

ERD Commander will allow you to boot to DOS and access the NTFS partition. You can then get your file.

Check www.sysinternals.com - They have lots of interesting tools. I downloaded the free NTFSDOS and placed it on a Win98 Emergency Boot Disk (it's small) and once booted on the Win2K machine ran it and gained access to the NTFS files. Very slick and the price was right.
