[OT]Slow Vantage after disconnecting old server

I can't remember what we did at the time, I just remember that it was a
pain.

I'm glad to hear that you have it all sorted out.

Chris

thanks Chris, that solved the problem, but what a pain that is. There
were
20+ registry entries pointing to the old server for epicor help files.
Did
you delete them or just point them to the new server? I changed them to
point to the new server, but I will look for duplicate registry entries
when
I have a chance.

thanks again.

We had this same exact problem. We had to go to each of the
workstations and get into the registry and clean up any of the old paths
that were pointing to the old server. It took us a while to figure out
what the problem was, but once we got them cleaned up we were good to
go.

For you IT pros, I've been upgrading my servers, and have moved
everything
to our Vantage server, including installing a Virtual Disk/Server to act
as
Domain controller (roles have been transferred to the Virtual Server)
while
I upgrade the old Domain Server software. Everything works, including
Vantage, but when I disconnect the old Server (unplug the network cable)
Vantage runs very slow, but does run. DNS settings do not point to the
old
server. Any ideas? Do I need to reboot the new server after
disconnecting
the old one? I plan on trying that over the weekend when nobody is here.

thanks,
