[OT?] Storage Servers

I have been given approval to shop for a NAS type storage server. The intended uses for it will be:
- Documents linked to Vantage (CAD, Photos, Design notes, work instructions, QA docs, etc...)
- User backup areas (for users to backup their PC to)
- User Exchange PST space
- Intra-day Vantage backup
- Nightly backup space - then to tape during day (currently backing up about 22GB a night straight to tape)

I have two decent looking (I think) solutions but am seeking opinions in case someone as experience with them.

1. Iomega NAS 400m with 640GB (on 4 160GB disks)
2. Xtore Extreme Storage - NASolution - same capacity as Iomega
Both 1Gb ethernet. Both have hot swap drives and redundant fans/power supply. Both can do RAID but I plan on JBOD anwyay.

The Iomega uses a Windows OS designed for NAS. The Xtore uses (I believe) some sort of Linux for NAS but integrates with Windows 2000 ADS.

The main issue is that the Xtore is about $1,000 less so I could afford to add a new tape unit.

Any opinions on Xtore or Iomega - or any other brands I should check out?

Thanks,
