[OT] Sync time less two minutes...any ideas

One thought, not entirely automated...
put a time server like tardis2000 on one computer that you keep the time
accurate -2min. Have it broadcast NTP to the network and use the k9 service
on the client machines to keep them up to minute with the manually adjusted
one.
Should work, (not sure why you would want this, but I won't go there)

I have an interesting problem...

I installed a software application on a server and the workstations clocks
need to be set to two minutes behind the server clock. Well, the
workstations are laptops and their clocks seem to gain time...any way to
automate this?

Thanks,

I use a program called "AboutTime". Its freeware and can be downloaded from
www.arachnoid.com. On the Primary domain server I set it to check the
internet sites and sync the time, it is also the time server for all other
servers and pc, they are set to check the primary domain server and sync
with its time. This runs in the background every hour. All pcs are exactly
on the same time (now if I could just do the same for the phone system.....)

If you are looking to set the time 2-minutes prior to the server, then you
would need to develop something. You could create a client/server app in VB
where the server runs on your server and the clients check the server time
and then set their time to 2 minutes less.
