OT? Unable to find Protocol TCP

Do a search on file "services". It should be located in the c:\windows folder.

Open with Notepad and verify that an entry exists for something like

vantage 3500/tcp

I know this is valid for version 5.1. However, I seem to recall that version
5.0 may have been

vantage 2900/tcp

You can open the services file on a working PC to see what the correct entry
should be.

Hope this helps!

I could use a little help. I have to have extra workstations set up
in the morning for some inventory data entry temps. One of the
workstations is giving me an error: "Unable to find protocol TCP in
file PROTOCOL or PROTOCOL file not found in expected location (5191)"

I have removed Progress, reinstalled progress, removed progress and
all icons and eMan & progress program folders, reinstalled progress,
uninstalled progress again, reinstalled network client, reinstalled
vantage....still the same error...

I can see the mapped drive that Vantage is on in Explorer. I
tried 'ping' servername and got 'bad command', heck I can't even do
that right tonight!

Vantage 5.00.329
Novell client 3.30
Win98 workstations
All 50+ workstations are set up the same. I am probably missing some
little setting somewhere. I appreciate all input, on or off-list.
Thank you! Ann
