[OT] VMWare and SAN Experts? New installation options

We just upgraded our VM environment:

6 Cisco B200 M2 blade servers + ( EMC VNX5300 with 15K drives + 400GB of
SSD drives used as Fast Cache)

Test Epicor was already installed and got migrated along with the rest
of the VM servers. Before the move Test VM Epicor was almost 4 to 6
times slower than Live Epicor. After the migration the Test VM Epicor is
as fast as Live Epicor, some reports generated even faster. The tests
were conducted when there were only one or two Epicor users logged into
the Test VM Epicor. In the next couple of weeks we are going to have as
many as 20 users to login and try test it vigorously.

I'll keep the group informed.

Subject: [Vantage] [OT] VMWare and SAN Experts? New installation options

Obviously, I am not asking for which option is better for our
environment since that would take way too long to go over here, but
simply any experience you have with this type of installation. Most
importantly, if you have anything you would recommend as a must-have.

We are considering two options for our SAN/VMWare environment.

Option #1 is an EMC VNX5300 - 15k drives with three ESX hosts

Option #2 is a NetApp FAS2220 (new this month) - 10k drives with two ESX
hosts

Other consideration, VMWare Essentials Plus vs. VMWare Enterprise?

Thanks,

Doug
