[OT] Win2K Login Fails [heur][bayes]

Todd,

Why are you mixing local and domain accounts? Setup the user with a
domain account, then add the domain account to the "Users" or "Power
Users" local group on the Win2K box. Ensure that the domain account
has logon rights to the Win2K box or "All computers".

When you log in with the domain account, make sure the domain name and
_not_ the local computer name is selected in the "Log in to" field in
the login window.

have fun,
john

Moving my boss to a new PC. Everything is setup OK on the new one but
when I try to log him in on network it loads local setting then goes to
"saving settings" briefly and then back to the press Ctrl-Alt-Del to
login screen. Can't seem to actually get him logged in. I've deleted
his account on the PC several times and recreated as well as checking
things on the server but it still does this non-login.

Any ideas what might cause this sort of login failure?

I had that happen yesterday to an XP box. I rebooted twice and now it works. Go figure.

Might try going to another computer, right click my computer select
manage, then connect to the computer giving you problems. Check through
the events to see if you can get a clue as to the error.

Very frustrating. I am getting the same problem when logging in to the
domain as the local "Administrator" account (which does have an account
on the domain). It seems to log in, says loading personal settings then
goes to saving settings and back to login prompt - al within about 2
seconds. When I try to login locally as the user it reports "access
denied". So I am thinking maybe some sort of mismatch between the local
