Another great tool I've been using for years now is Dameware DNTU and their
Remote Control Utility.

Does anyone know an easy shortcut to remotely connect to a users
computer using Remote Assistance?

Basically I am the IT Manager, and I am stuck walking to workstations on
the other side of the shop frequently to show them how to do simple
tasks.

It would be nice to use a program, where I simply double click, they say
"Yes, allow him to connect." And wham, we are both looking at the same
screen, and I have control.

Remote assistance works, but they have to go through help, then type in
my email address, send me an email etc. Too time consuming.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Look into Tridia VNC or WinVNC. We use that for our PCs that we don't use a Terminal Services connection on.

We share some of the same challenges. I still find myself show some
users where the "any key" is
I set up a company intranet that allows document sharing etc. Within
this browser enviorment, the clients can type, or click onto a link that
fires off the net stream application.
It is very easy to set up and use.

If you are looking for more than just "remoting" someone elses workstation, such as controlling what screensaver they can use, what programs they can run, etc. then look at Novells Zenworks. You do not need to run Netware to use it. Very powerful program.

My two cents.
