Summary:
Outgoing Call

Talked to Dave,

explained him that this si not possible in a nromal process, he would
need to delete the shipment and modify the order to show an actual
freigth charge, otherwise, he would need to change the freigth at the
invoice level, but this will not asure him the expected results as he
does not want to charge the customer the diference.

Summary:
AR/OM freight charge estimate vs. actual

We put a miscellaneous charge line on all our Sales Orders for
Freight. We bill the Customer a charge that is our best estimate and
that price is entered on the SO. When then freight bill arrives, after
the shipment, the best estimate and the actual are not the same. Is
there a place where the Actual freight charge can be entered so that
it displays in the 'Sales Gross Margin Report' and we can see the SO
Freight amount charged, and calculate it against the 'Actual" freight
amount for a margin calculation?
--------------------
The call is now closed. We have not found a way around this but sure
would like to. Please let me know if you come up with anything.
Will do the same.

Currently we review gross profit on the production detail report for
each line that is manufactured to a specific sales order demand.

We would like to examine profitability of a sales order including the
outbound frieght costs to ship that order. Is this possible to do
within Vista? If so, where are the outbound freight costs input to
Vista that we can isolate the cost to ship a specific order? I know we
could do that with job cost adjustment, but it would require us to
adjust costs for each line of the order to do that.... and what would we
do with items shipped from stock?

Thanks for any advice....
