Outside Vendor services

Unfortunately that is the case. It is triggered by operation completion.

What happens when there are multiple shipments on that operation?

Lets say that the job is for 100 pieces but they send back 25 at a time, a
few days apart? We would like to know when the first batch comes in.

Will the trigger only alert when the whole amount is completed?

In Global Alert Maintenance there is an 'operation has been completed'
alert. Acivate that and set up the e-mail addresses of the intended
recipients. Then at the job level or at the BOM level you can activate
that alert for the specific outside operation or operations you wish to be
notified about.

You could set up a global alert at the job level to send a message upon
receipt to whomever needs to be informed.

I was wondering how people handle outside vendor services? How does
receiving notify that an outside vendor operation has been received and it's
ready to go on to the next operation? Is there an automated way to notify
production?

We have an issue when an outside vendor operation is received, it just sits
there without anybody realizing that it needs to move on to the next
operation until production starts to complain that they can't work because
they don't have the material. Since it's still in WIP, it's a black hole to
us. We don't have the Advance materials module to track WIP easily.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jasper
