Part Creation Date, Version 6.1

Also a 'New Item' flag - after an item is x months old you can turn the flag off.

Hi
Does any one know where the date a part was created on the system may
be held?

We are trying to sort dead stock out my moving iot to a "dead" part
class.
We have a method of looking at stock usage which works ok.
But where we add a new item, that has no usage yet, it is difficult
to tell the diffence between that and a slow moving item.

It would be good just to disreguard any item added in the past x
months.

We could of course start using a VB form to manually add a date when
the item is created. but if the system has one for all the old items
that would be great.

Any ideas / comments ?

Dave

If you haven't already done so, activate the change log for Part in the
Business Activity Manager. In the ChgLog table all newly created parts
will then be date-stamped and the phrase "New Record" will be assigned
to the LogText field. When writing the report off the ChgLog table, set
the report filters to Identifier = "PT", Table Name = "Part" and LogText
like "New Record".

You can also extract the PartRev or the ECORev tables (v8.0). There
you will find the Dates & Times the part was created/altered. You may
view the oldest record or most recent with a formula that evaluates
todays date minus the check in dates.
